The region received the first rains in nearly three weeks as a fast-moving storm front moved across the state Thursday night through Friday morning, interrupting an unusually warm, dry February this year.
Precipitation totals were more consistent during this storm, with most communities recording around 0.25 inches. Notable exceptions were the remote Pinon Hills, where 0.72 inches was recorded, and Simi Valley where over half an inch was also recorded. On the drier side of the storm were San Diego's City Heights (0.04 inches) and Anza to the east (0.02 inches). WeatherCurrents contributors reported 0.28 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas) and 0.22 inches in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott). In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.12 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington).
High Pressure was expected to reemerge west of California this week, ushering in warm temperatures and low humidity once again.
