By Reginald Stanley. Posted April 30, 2018, 10:43 PM.An unseasonably cold low pressure system will bring chances of showers and a slight possibility of thunderstorms to the region Tuesday, leading into Wednesday morning. Precipitation totals are forecast between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch in the valleys, with locally higher amounts in favorable foothill and mountain locations. Less than 1/4 inch is expected in the high desert, and less than 1/10 inch in the low desert. Snow levels are predicted to fall down to 6,000 feet above sea level - particularly in the San Bernardino Mountains. Rain chances will be greatest Tuesday night. The storm's instability and northerly flow could bring small chances of thunderstorms late Tuesday night. A warming trend is expected following the storm's departure from the region Wednesday. |
