Patchy light rain and drizzle Saturday night

By Reginald Stanley. Posted November 24, 2024, 2:26 PM.

A weakening trough brought scattered light rain and drizzle to parts of the region late Saturday and early Sunday morning, hardly making a dent in what has been a very dry Autumn in Southern California to-date.

Precipitation totals were light, where measurable rain did fall. South Fallbrook received the greatest amount with 0.11 inches, followed by 0.09 inches in Moreno Valley. Simi Valley recorded their first measurable rain of the season with 0.08 inches - an unusually late start for that location. Lesser amounts fell in Anza, East Hemet, French Valley and Central Murrieta. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.04 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). WeatherCurrents stations in Lake Elsinore, Northwest Murrieta, South Temecula, Pinon Hills, and San Jacinto all failed to record measurable precipitation this weekend. Additional, small chances for precipitation exist for Tuesday and Wednesday as more weak troughing moves south. Predicted rainfall from that event is also expected to be light, where rain does occur. Dry weather is expected for the Thanksgiving holiday.
