By Reginald Stanley. Posted September 8, 2015, 5:05 PM.Monsoonal moisture, coupled with remnants of former Tropical Storm Linda, produced the right conditions for thunderstorms Tuesday. Initially expected to be limited to the mountains, thunderstorms traveled westward Tuesday afternoon into parts of the Inland Empire. In the WeatherCurrents network, only the San Jacinto station has recorded rainfall so far (0.21 inches). A severe thunderstorm was reported in Menifee just before 5 PM, along with gusty winds. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue Flash Flood Warnings and Watches to western Riverside County, as well as a large portion of San Bernardino County and the eastern San Diego County mountains Tuesday afternoon. The thunderstorm activity is expected to last through the early evening, with additional chances of thunderstorms again Wednesday and Thursday. |
