Showers to taper off Wednesday morning; isolated by this afternoon

Isolated light showers later this afternoon will be all that's left of a couple of fronts, the last of which is rolling through the region early Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service says that scattered light showers will be decreasing this morning over the region, and additional rainfall amounts will be a few hundredths of an inch, if any. Most of the rain that's going to fall has already fallen. Totals through Wednesday morning between a fifth and a third of an inch. Two day totals at WeatherCurrents stations included 0.68" in Fallbrook, 0.50" in Lake Elsinore, 0.36" in San Bernardino and Wildomar, 0.35" in Menifee, 0.33" in French Valley, 0.29" in Murrieta, 0.26" in Beaumont, 0.25" in Moreno Valley, 0.24" in Temecula and Hemet, and 0.20" in Riverside. Two days totals were not immediately available for De Luz and Perris. Snow levels are near 6,000 feet today in the local mountains. A wind advisory is in effect for the mountains and deserts through this evening. Gusty winds are possible in the inland valleys as well, but shouldn't reach more than 20-30 mph. Full storm totals for Tuesday and Wednesday will be published later. |
