At 10:29am this morning, Riverside and Orange counties were briefly shook by an earthquake along the Elsinore fault. The earthquake registered magnitude 4.7 on the Richter Scale. See the USGS report for location and magnitude details.
Felt throughout the inland valleys and also in Orange County, according to a report by Kevin Martin, the earthquake lasted only a few seconds. It was followed by multiple smaller aftershocks.
The epicenter of the quake was northwest of Lake Elsinore and south of Corona, in the Santa Ana mountains above the Temescal Valley community.
There were no reports of damage. |
