A series of weak low pressure systems are moving across California this week, the first of which brought scattered light showers to the region late Sunday and Monday morning.

Most WeatherCurrents stations recorded measurable rainfall Monday morning, with light totals between 0.01 and 0.10 inches across the valleys. Simi Valley recorded the highest total with 0.07 inches, while South Fallbrook was the only station to not receive measurable precipitation. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.03 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington) while 0.02 inches was reported in Riverside's Canyon Crest neighborhood (courtesy of Jim Ness). Continuous showers occurred over southern San Diego County throughout the remainder of Monday, while the rest of the region dried out under partly-to-mostly cloudy skies.

Another low pressure system will move through the region from the north tonight into Wednesday, bringing colder temperatures and a small chance of showers on Wednesday. Lower snow levels are expected with this system, with minimal impacts outside of the mountains. An additional chance of showers is forecast for Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon, with slightly higher snow levels and the possibility of a thunderstorm. Precipitation totals are forecast to be low from these systems, mostly under 0.10 inches. Conditions are predicted to dry out and warm to near average over the weekend under high pressure aloft.
