A warm storm system brought moderate rain to the region on March 10-11, as well as high snow levels and warm overnight temperatures.
The storm was notable for its relatively warm temperatures - a departure from the abnormally cold storms that have affected Southern California during the winter up to this point. Storm totals were variable but generally modest, with totals ranging from as high as 1.22 inches in Simi Valley, to as low as 0.15 inches in Pinon Hills. WeatherCurrents' station in south Fallbrook also received 1.01 inches. The majority of the remaining WeatherCurrents stations in the network recorded totals between 1/3 and 2/3 inches. A total of 0.45 inches was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington) while 0.20 inches was reported in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer).
