A power outage Thursday evening took out power to about 268,000 Edison customers, according to a Valley News story.
The affected areas in Riverside County were Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Menifee. Moreno Valley, Perris, Riverside, Corona, Homeland, Hemet and San Jacinto. Most areas had power restored in 10 minutes, but some remained down for a while longer.
WeatherCurrents' weather stations in Murrieta, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore were affected by the outage. Wildomar was still down as of Friday morning, since the computer on site there does not automatically come back on following a power failure. The station in Hemet runs on solar and is battery backed up and lost no data during the blackout. |
