Weekend rain totals; more on way

Posted May 16, 2011, 7:30 AM.

The second cool, gusty weekend in a row featured some light rain in Southern California's inland valleys.

Some communities just received raindrops but not enough to measure, but others recorded up to 0.13" of rainfall. Rain was recorded in Moreno Valley (0.13"), Wildomar (0.11"), Lake Elsinore (0.09"), De Luz (0.08"), Murrieta (0.07"), San Bernardino (0.06"), Fallbrook and Riverside (0.05"), Menifee (0.03"), Beaumont (0.02"), and French Valley and Perris (0.01").

Jim Sappington recorded 0.03" in the Temecula Valley Wine Country.

Most of the rainfall was on Sunday morning, although a handful of communities (French Valley, De Luz and Fallbrook) received measurable rainfall on Saturday morning.

The low pressure system isn't done, and will let loose more rain when it travels across the region late Monday night and Tuesday. A second system will follow it Tuesday night. Rainfall for Monday night through Wednesday morning is predicted to be up to a half of an inch.
