Precipitation totals on Friday were uneven - prefrontal moisture dampened parts of San Diego County early Friday morning, as well as some isolated areas of the Inland Empire. Following cool and mostly cloudy conditions throughout Saturday, the main bulk of moisture began streaming over the region from the southwest Saturday evening, putting a damper on trick-or-treaters across the region. Steadier rainfall continued into Sunday morning before tapering off later in the day, although remaining showers continued in the mountain and foothill communities as of Sunday evening. Storm totals ranged from as high as 0.94 inches in Moreno Valley, to just 0.17 inches in Pinon Hills to the north. Rain amounts from Saturday evening into Sunday were fairly consistent across the inland valleys, mainly between 0.4 and 0.7 inches - which fell within predictions made by the National Weather Service. In the Temecula Valley Wine Country, a total of 0.49 inches was reported through Sunday morning (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Totals were more modest in Riverside and neighboring Moreno Valley - a total of 0.72 inches was observed in the Canyon Crest neighborhood of Riverside (courtesy of Jim Ness). Dry conditions and slightly below average temperatures are expected throughout the week, while drizzle cannot be ruled out for Tuesday as a weak trough passes through the region. A ridge of high pressure is forecast to begin building over the region next weekend. Here are the rain totals for the WeatherCurrents network and associates:
