By Reginald Stanley. As temperatures peaked Wednesday afternoon, Lake Elsinore was the hottest location in the WeatherCurrents network, with a high temperature of 106 degrees. Both Wildomar and San Jacinto followed closely behind with high temperatures of 105 degrees. Foothill and mountain communities, as well as locations closer to the coast, were spared from triple-digits temperatures Wednesday. WeatherCurrents' station in Fallbrook was the mildest in the WeatherCurrents network on Wednesday, with a high temperature of only 89 degrees. Temperatures are forecast to remain about the same Thursday as they were on Wednesday inland, if not slightly warmer. Marine layer presence remains strong along the coasts despite the heat inland. The high pressure ridge is expected to begin breaking down Friday through the weekend, leading to a decrease in temperatures to near what is typical for mid-August. |
