The tail end of a Northern California storm skirted the region Monday, bringing mostly cloudy conditions and cool weather, yet with little rain.

None of the currently active WeatherCurrents stations recorded measurable precipitation during the event, however 0.05 inches was reported in East Highland by contributor Peter Michas. The National Weather Service also reported light showers near the coasts in San Diego and Orange counties late Monday night. The disturbance moved east towards New Mexico later during the week, and an high pressure ridge replaced it with warmer, drier weather.

Looking ahead, a chance of showers for Christmas Day has been added to the forecast as a wind-driven front sweeps across the region beginning Monday night, Christmas Eve. Details and precipitation amounts are still unknown, with computer forecast models disagreeing on the degree of precipitation. Because of this, the National Weather Service has placed low confidence in the storm details at this time. Significant gusty winds, however, are expected in the mountains and deserts.

An additional, colder storm around Thursday may possibly affect the region. Computer forecast models once again disagree on the details surrounding the storm as of yet.
