Low pressure parked off the coast of California has been sending multiple bands of moisture into the region this week.
The low pressure system was not as cold as previous storms this month, keeping snow levels generally above 5,000 feet. Showers began intermittently late Tuesday, with a somewhat heavier band of rain Wednesday morning. An even heavier wave of rain entered the region late Wednesday night, continuing into Thursday morning. Precipitation totals were mostly between a quarter and half an inch. Mountain and foothill locations tended to have higher totals. Southerly locations, as well as much of the Temecula Valley, had lower totals. In East Highland, 0.75 inches was reported (courtesy of Peter Michas), and 0.86 inches in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington).
A relatively wet March so far is scheduled to continue with more rain on the way this weekend and next week.
