 A fast-moving trough moved quickly across the region Sunday evening, and brought showers that lasted until shortly after midnight Monday. The trough also left a cold air mass over Southern California. Precipitation totals ranged from 0.03 inches in Perris to 0.45 inches in Cherry Valley. Most communities recorded between 1/10 and 1/3 of an inch. The highest totals were observed along the southern slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains. WeatherCurrents stations in Moreno Valley, Menifee and Wildomar were experiencing difficulties with their rain gauges during the storm. Following the storm, a cold air mass moved into its place over Southern California on Monday, bringing cold temperatures to the area. Nine WeatherCurrents stations reported freezing or subfreezing  temperatures early Tuesday morning. Here are the rain totals for the WeatherCurrents network and associates:
