A series of weak troughs delivered scant rainfall to the region between Friday and Sunday.
Precipitation totals were widely variable. Amounts as high as 1.15 inches was reported in Cherry Valley, while no measurable rain fell at all in Simi Valley or Wildomar. Rain totals were generally higher in the San Bernardino valley and Riverside vicinity, while the lowest totals were in the Temecula and Menifee valleys.
Three shortwaves were responsible for the cool, cloudy weather over the weekend. The first two troughs produced very little or no rain for the region, however the third delivered sporadic showers on Saturday. The final storm's remaining moisture departed the region early Sunday. A major warm-up was expected for the week ahead.
