Storm Totals: February 20th, 2008

The first of three storms expended its energy mainly to the north and the east of the inland valleys Wednesday, but still left some inland areas of Southern California wet.

Some WeatherCurrents communities still received around a quarter of an inch, although less than a tenth of an inch was typical. Predictions before for the storm were for up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall.

Rainfall from this storm predominantly fell in the east and the south, in the San Jacinto and Moreno Valleys and around Fallbrook and the Santa Rosa Plateau.

The new Moreno Valley station led the way with 0.27" of rain. De Luz was next at 0.26", then San Jacinto at 0.21", Fallbrook at 0.19".

At the bottom of the list were Menifee Valley and Murrieta with 0.02" of rain, Lake Elsinore at 0.03", and Perris and Temecula, recording 0.07".

Riverside (0.12") and Hemet (0.15") were in the middle, but had totals above predictions.

The second of the series of storms was due to arrive Thursday night, with moderate showers expected and predictions of between a quarter to a half of an inch of rainfall.
