Rice Canyon Fire Near Fallbrook Reportedly Destroys 50 Homes (corrected)

According to the latest update from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF), the Rice Canyon fire had widened to 1,500 acres burned Monday evening and had destroyed 50 homes in the Fallbrook area. Thirty more homes were reported damaged, and an additional 1,000 homes were threatened by the fire. Fallbrook was evacuated earlier in the day. Interstate 15 through the area remained closed Monday evening. |
