Isolated reports of thunderstorm activity in parts of western Riverside County occurred early Tuesday morning, confined mostly to mountain and foothill communities, as well as parts of the Temecula Valley.

One single-cell thunderstorm produced thunder, lightning and scattered rainfall across Perris, travelling southwest to the Temecula Valley, and ending near De Luz and Fallbrook. A separate cluster of small thunderstorms also brought rain to Anza to the east, as well as Beaumont (Cherry Valley) east of San Bernardino. Precipitation amounts were not high at any of the WeatherCurrents stations affected by the thunderstorms, with Anza recording the highest total of 0.15 inches. In Hemet, however, a heavy downpour at approximately noon back on July 7th resulted in 0.63 inches there. WeatherCurrents contributor Peter Michas reported 0.03 inches in East Highland. in Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.02 inches was reported by Jim Sappington.

Thunderstorm chances for Inland communities remain possible on Wednesday, decreasing gradually from Thursday onward as a drying trend takes place.
