Santa Ana winds arrived after 1 am this morning across the Simi Valley area. The strongest wind gust reported in Simi Valley was 58 mph at the WeatherCurrents site there at 7 am. Peak gusts each hour since 3 am have been over 50 mph. At 5:49 am this morning a 65 mph gust was reported at Wiley Ridge.

Strongest wind reported in southern California was in the Santa Ana Mountains, where a gust to 81 mph was recorded at Fremont Canyon (Orange County)at 5 am.

Strong winds will continue through the afternoon, but will slowly begin to decrease in intensity.
