The third storm in a week and the second strong storm of the month hit the inland valleys over the weekend, causing a few flooding problems.
Saturated ground in many areas contributed to heavy run-off compared to the most recent storms. With little time to dry out between days of rain, gutters, storm drains, creeks and rivers were more full than during other earlier episodes this season where even more rainfall occurred.
Rainfall from the storm was highly variable as it usually is, with some locations receiving 3/4" (Riverside), and others receiving more than 2 3/4" (Temecula).
Among reports from weather-watchers, Southeast Temecula was at 3.0" for the storm, Central Temecula at 2.97" and East San Jacinto at 2.97".
Some WeatherCurrents stations had technical issues over the rainy weekend. The Murrieta station experienced a clogged rain gauge, which was cleared Sunday. Lake Elsinore's rain gauge was intermittently working. And Riverside had a computer failure for much of Saturday and Sunday.
