A trough brought rain to the region early Friday morning, with most areas receiving under one tenth of an inch of rainfall. It was also the first storm of the 2017-18 rainy season to bring widespread snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The trough brought a band of rain through the region between 3 AM and 6 AM Friday morning. Thirteen of the eighteen currently active WeatherCurrents stations recorded rainfall Friday. The eastern valleys were most affected, where higher totals were reported. In East San Jacinto, 0.10 inches was reported by Monty Parrott. The majority of WeatherCurrents stations only recorded just enough rainfall to be measurable. WeatherCurrents' outlying stations in Simi Valley and Pinon Hills, as well as its stations in San Diego (City Heights), Fallbrook and Temecula, did not record any measurable rain from the storm.
Clear, warmer weather is expected to move in as offshore flow returns to the region.
