Apologies for the late summarization of this storm, which spanned three days the week of Thanksgiving.
The first major storm of the season hit Southern California the week of Thanksgiving. The storm, which tapped subtropical moisture, arrived in two waves, one the morning of the 26th, and another the morning of the 27th (Thanksgiving Day).
All of the 12 WeatherCurrents communities in Riverside and San Diego counties received substantial rainfall from the storm.
San Jacinto led the way this time, with 1.92" of rainfall recorded. De Luz (1.74"), Murrieta (1.65"), and Fallbrook (1.64") followed.
Menifee (0.79"), Riverside (0.85"), Moreno Valley (0.95") and Perris (0.94") recorded the least amounts of rainfall for the storm.
Clogs in rain gauges in Menifee and Moreno Valley led to different solutions to get storm totals. In Menifee, the rainwater slowly drained out. Moreno Valley totals were derived from a nearby station.
The San Jacinto station's rain gauge mechanisms also malfunctioned, overrecording rainfall that had to be adjusted downwards.
The following storm totals were recorded Sunday:
