Another mid-week storm left substantial rainfall in the inland valleys Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Totals from the storm padded season totals that were already significantly above normal for some communities.
Most communities received between a quarter and a half of an inch of rain from the storm. Predictions before the storm were for up to three quarters of an inch of rain.
Big totals were recorded in the eastern inland valleys, with Hemet leading the way among WeatherCurrents stations, at 0.60". Other recordings in the Temecula Valley Wine Country and East San Jacinto were 0.80" and 0.65", respectively.
In the middle were Temecula (0.52"), De Luz (0.48"), Lake Elsinore (0.41"), French Valley (0.41"), Fallbrook (0.37") and Murrieta (0.36").
Perris, backed up by a manual rain gauge, received the least amount of rainfall, at 0.08". Other totals on the low side included Menifee (0.20"), Moreno Valley (0.24"), Wildomar (0.28") and Riverside (0.31").
The storm looked the last rain for about two weeks or so, with Southern California predicted to get an extended drying out period.
The Perris rain gauge continued to be inoperable through this latest storm. Faulty electronics are suspected.
