Heavy Rain Expected Tuesday Night and Wednesday; Showers through Thanksgiving

The first significant storm since May 22nd was poised to enter the region on Tuesday evening, bringing heavy rain through Wednesday morning. The latest predictions were for between one to two inches of rainfall in the inland valleys, with more on south facing slopes. Snow levels in the local mountains were forecast to fall to 6,000 feet. Scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms were expected through Thanksgiving Day. The storm's approach was to be from the west, with the onset of rain in coastal areas of Southern California mostly at the same time Tuesday evening. Originally, a second storm was predicted for Friday night and Saturday, but that one will now miss Southern California. Instead, moderate offshore flow is expected. |
