Posted July 15, 2005, 7:49 AM.For the second day in a row on Thursday, temperatures were well into triple digits across most of western Riverside county. Lake Elsinore again led the way with 106.5°F, and Fallbrook, in inland San Diego county, was the coolest spot with 98.7°F. Thursday's high temperatures were the hottest of the year in Murrieta, Temecula, and Fallbrook. Wednesday's high temperatures were the hottest of the year in Lake Elsinore, Menifee Valley, Hemet, Riverside and De Luz. Only Lake Elsinore, Menifee Valley and Hemet were predicted to be above 100°F again on Friday, although hot temperatures continued to be predicted in the Temecula Valley and in the Riverside area as well. Dry lightning from unstable air in the region was again a possibility on Friday. Thunderstorms and monsoonal moisture was expected to stay far to the east in the deserts.
