What had all the makings of a wet, early-season weekend storm has now been cast in doubt by the latest forecast models.

Over the past day, disagreement in three forecast models used primarily to forecast weather has caused forecasters to back off on the amount and intensity of rain for the weekend. Those models are still not in agreement. Because they're not, there is also a chance that the storm might miss Southern California altogether if it tracks far enough south.

Previous forecasts had indicated the storm would track substantially over Southern California, with up to an inch and half of rain and mountain snow.

The newest model runs are showing the storm system running down the west coast, with the main energy going into Baja California.

As a result, we can expect a half of an inch of rain or less in most locations, with the storm arriving late Friday night or perhaps Saturday morning, and little, if any, mountain snow. Northern locations will get less.

Expect more changes to this weekend's rain chances over the next 24 hours.
