In the inland valleys of San Diego and Riverside counties, however, there were few problems. Top wind gust speeds were a very robust 38 mph in Temecula early this morning. Perris gusts were up to 32 mph. Riverside gusts peaked at 29 mph. Menifee and Beaumont recorded gusts up to 23 mph.

Winds were increasing through the rest of the region Wednesday afternoon however, with gusts hitting the low to high teens nearly everywhere else.

Wednesday's afternoon temperatures were only in the 50's in most inland valley locations, and only in the upper 40's in Beaumont.

According to Press-Enterprise reports, a couple of overturned big rigs snarled traffic along Interstate 10 and State Route 60 this morning.
