Storm Update for Tuesday

By Jim Purpura. Posted October 4, 2011, 5:16 PM.

The strong fall storm is beginning to target the Inland Empire. Showers have fallen in most areas, with the following totals through 3:30 pm in the WeatherCurrents network...

Lake Elsinore 0.20 inches

French Valley 0.16 inches

Murrieta 0.15 inches

Wildomar 0.13 inches

De Luz 0.05 inches

Fallbrook 0.03 inches

Most other locations have received a trace, including Temecula.

Temperatures are much cooler today, in the 60's across all areas.

Computer forecast models continue to show the main rain area will affect the Inland Empire Wednesday, especially between 8 am and 6 pm. Rain will be heavy at times, with a possibility of thunderstorms. Rainfall totals of up to an inch will occur across the Inland Empire.

Some two to four inch rain totals may be found along west and southwest facing slopes of the San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Mountains.

Snow will be present above 7000 feet, enough for several inches near the mountain tops of taller mountains.
