De Luz Weather Station Returns to Service

Following down time of about a month, the De Luz weather station returned to service today. An equipment failure of the Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2 transmitter cause the outage, which occurred August 20th. Repairing the station proved time-consuming, and involved sending the unit back to Davis Instruments. During the month long outage, no rainfall was recorded, and manual temperatures at the site were indicative of a long term summer trend of about two degrees above temperatures recorded in Fallbrook. Our thanks goes to Steve Rhodes of De Luz, who hosts and owns the De Luz weather station. Steve has contributed data to WeatherCurrents for the past two years. Most of the stations in the WeatherCurrents network are Peet Bros Ultimeters, for which some spare parts are stocked. De Luz is one of two privately owned Davis Instruments stations (Hemet is the other) that contribute data into the WeatherCurrents network. |
