The October sandstorm, where winds reached 80+ mph, had clogged the anemometer (wind sensor) with dust and tore the rain gauge from its wiring. An accompanying power outage had also knocked out the barometer calibration.

The anemometer had to be replaced, the rain gauge was repaired and the barometer was re-calibrated to bring it back to full operational status.
