At 5:45pm, the Riverside County Fire Department reported that the Jojoba RV Resort in Aguanga was undergoing mandatory evacuations and that structures were threatened. The evacuation order was lifted around 8pm.

The fire was reportedly 40% contained at 8pm and burning in a southwesterly direction.

High winds had initially grounded fire aircraft that normally help fight such fires, but by the evening, wind had come down to 30 mph and the aircraft were flying.

Highway 371 was reported closed between Highway 79 and Wilson Valley Road.

Smoke from the fire had blown west into the Temecula Valley and De Luz in the late afternoon. Smoke was also reported, along with blowing dust, in the San Jacinto Valley.
