With almost all the WeatherCurrents stations seeing high temperatures in the upper 70's to low 80's Friday, and we're well into March, you'd want to start thinking the cold weather is over.

Unfortunately, that's not the case as we look at the end of the weekend into next week. The winds above the surface are becoming stronger as we see a more active weather pattern for the next 2 weeks or so. This will be a shift to more clouds and cooler weather as the jet stream begins to bring in a steady stream of storms to the west coast.

The first storm will be a quick hit with mainly fog and drizzle, especially Sunday night and Monday.

The active storm pattern then brings a steady stream of storms with the possibility of heavy rain and snow to northern California. It is still too soon to tell, but some computer forecasts are beginning to suggest that at least some of this rain may begin to affect southern California around Friday or Saturday.
