Saturday heat soars into triple digits in inland valleys

It was hot everywhere on Saturday as an expected heat wave revved up, with 100°F temperatures recorded nearly everywhere in western Riverside and northern San Diego counties. And we may not have seen the hottest day yet. Among WeatherCurrents' thirteen stations in the region, Wildomar was hottest, at 107°F. Hemet was next at 106°F, followed by Lake Elsinore, Menifee and Riverside at 105°F. Other communities over 100°F included Murrieta (104°F), Perris (103°F), Temecula and French Valley (102°F), and De Luz (101°F). Only Fallbrook (99°F and San Jacinto (98°F) failed to reach triple digits among WeatherCurrents locations. It was only the fourth major heat wave of the year, following heat spells from July 14th through 17th, August 23rd through 26th, and September 2nd through 4th. Predictions for Monday were even hotter, with many of the hottest locations expected to hit 110°F. Gradual relief was expected after that, with temperatures sliding for the rest of tyhe week.
