Predictions are for all WeatherCurrents stations to be in the middle 90's or higher Wednesday, with all locations near 100°F or above Thursday.

The heat is expected to peak Thursday and Friday, with Lake Elsinore near 108°F, Hemet, Menifee and Wildomar about 105°F, Perris at 104°F, Riverside and Temecula around 103°F, Moreno Valley around 102°F, and Fallbrook and De Luz near 99°F.

The late August heat could turn out to be the warmest of the summer. Following a heat wave in mid-July, the rest of the summer has been relatively mild.

A cool down is currently anticipated to begin Sunday, and should last well into next week, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms. Some monsoonal moisture might also enter the region beginning Sunday.
