Posted November 26, 2010, 12:55 AM.

A second round of freeze and frost warnings were issued for the inland valleys for Thursday night and Friday morning following freezing and near freezing temperatures Thursday morning.

Predicted lows for Friday morning are 28°F in Menifee, 30°F in Temecula, 31°F in Perris, 33°F in Riverside, 34°F in Wildomar, 36°F in Moreno Valley and Lake Elsinore, and 37°F in Fallbrook.

Thursday night was shaping up to be the second cold night in a row. Wildomar recorded 29°F Thursday morning, the coldest temperature recorded at a WeatherCurrents station this year. Murrieta (31°F) was also freezing. Lake Elsinore (32°F), Menifee (32°F were at freezing. Moreno Valley (33°F), Perris (33°F), Temecula (34°F) and French Valley (35°F) were near freezing.

Dry conditions should help limit frost formation.

Frost can form in sheltered conditions when temperatures are 37°F or less, if the dewpoint is high enough. Some plants are frost-sensitive and should be protected from frosty conditions which can harm or even kill them.
