Posted July 14, 2010, 10:28 PM.

The first sustained heat wave of the summer baked the inland valley Wednesday, putting ten of thirteen WeatherCurrents station above 100°F. And hot weather was expected to last through Saturday.

The hottest temperatures were recorded in Lake Elsinore, with 107°F, closely followed by Wildomar at Hemet at 106°F. Menifee was just a degree behind at 105°F.

Perris (102°F), Moreno Valley (101°F), Murrieta (101°F), French Valley (101°F), Temecula (100°F) and Riverside (100°F) all reached triple digits.

Relative cool was found Wednesday in Fallbrook (92°F) and De Luz (94°F).

Tuesday had featured hundred degree days in Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Hemet, and Menifee.

The heat has begun unusually late this year. Prior to Tuesday, only Wildomar had recorded a triple digit day.

More heat was on the way as well, with a potential run through Saturday before a cooling trend begins on Sunday. More mid-level moisture was expected to begin arriving Thursday, and with it, a chance of thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts.
