Weakening Storm Still Coming

Posted December 2, 2005, 7:24 AM.

Bands of showers from a weakening storm off the coast of Southern California are likely coming over the region this afternoon and evening and should be through the area later tonight.

A day ago, rainfall amounts were expected to be about three quarter of an inch. Current predictions are now calling for a tenth of an inch in western Riverside and northern San Diego counties.

This storm now appears destined to join a couple of other November duds already this year, a far cry from last year's storms, which had dumped many inches of rain on the area by this date. NOAA's Climate Prediction Center has been predicting lower than normal rain amounts for the area through December, then an equal chance of higher or lower rainfall amounts for the January through March period.
